Mason Sand is a washed, smooth material for work above prepared site support, not a replacement for storm-drainage planning. Grayer sand than the sample photo
Ordered mason sand for a batch of paver joints on a walkway job in Glenwood, three tons for the whole run. New mortar barely shows against the old
Repointed an old lava rock wall along the property line in Lawai that's probably been standing since the plantation days and finally needed fresh mortar in half the joints. Went through about three tons of mason sand mixed with cement over two weeks, matching the joints one section at a time so the wall kept its character. The sand mixed clean with barely any clumping, which matters a lot when you're troweling all day and don't want to be picking out pebbles every few minutes. Wall's held through one full rainy season and the new mortar lines are barely noticeable next to the old ones.
