Windward and mauka ground can stay saturated in heavy red clay, while leeward sites may drain quickly through volcanic soil or coral. That contrast makes storm runoff a concern wherever it concentrates against bare ground. RipRap provides heavy stone protection in locations where moving water could wash away soil.
Place RipRap over the exposed path of the runoff, particularly at a culvert outlet or channel where storm flow reaches bare ground. The stone is intended to armor that surface against erosion, not to serve as general base material for a driveway or pad. On a windward lot, look at the route water follows from saturated ground before covering it. For work needing smaller erosion-control stone, compare the intended exposure before choosing this heavier material.

Stopped the undercutting on a rough access road
